U2’s New Album Will Be Out Before the End of the Year
It looks like a new U2 album in 2014 might be happening after all. After some major back-and-forth regarding the band's next album -- it was scheduled for release sometime this year, then it wasn't -- apparently things are on schedule again.
According to the Sun (via NME), the group will reportedly release the record in November.
"The U2 comeback is very much on for this year," an unnamed source told the paper. "This album has been a real struggle for them to make. It's taken a long time, and Bono didn't find it easy. But they're very confident now and are convinced the wait has been worth it."
The Sun also reports that the band may perform at this year's iTunes Festival in London.
If all this is true, then U2 must have had a recent surge of energy. In addition to completing their 13th album, which they've been recording at various studios with various producers, Bono and the Edge are working on a movie musical with 'Once' director John Carney.
