‘Volume 2′ of Five Finger Death Punch’s ‘Wrong Side of Heaven’ Lands at No. 2 on Billboard 200

After Five Finger Death Punch's 'The Wrong Side of Heaven and the Righteous Side of Hell Volume 1' debuted at No. 2 when it was released in July, the follow-up 'The Wrong Side of Heaven and the Righteous Side of Hell Volume 2' has just matched it, also securing the No. 2 spot its opening week.

Eminem's 'The Marshall Mathers LP 2' kept 5FDP out of the top spot, but the band did outsell Lady Gaga, who scored last week's No. 1 album but dropped to No. 8 this week. Even though both 'Volume 1' and 'Volume 2' hit No. 2 on the chart, the first installment sold considerably more its first week, 112,000 copies compared to 77,000 for 'Volume 2.' Still, quite impressive for one band to score two No. 2 albums within five months of each other.

In a new interview, guitarist Zoltan Bathory talked about the difference between 'The Wrong Side of Heaven and the Righteous Side of Hell' albums. "When we were separating the songs into two records, we had a certain criteria," Bathory says. "We wanted to make sure that we separated all 26 songs into two batches where fans almost couldn’t have a preference between them. That was the goal."

"'Vol. 2' may be a shade darker and heavier, but just a shade," Bathory states. "There are no drastic differences because it’s the same time capsule, recorded in the same time. We had a creative flow, and we ended up with a lot of songs that we thought were great and we wanted to release them all."

Five Finger Death Punch are currently on tour in Europe with Avenged Sevenfold. They are also set to headline ShipRocked 2014, as well as taking suggestions for the Trespass America Tour 2014 lineup.
