Washington Law Says You Can’t Break a Car Window if a Dog is Inside During Summer

We've all seen the memes and other posts on social media about how they're handing out free broken windows to dogs left in hot cars. Well, if you actually act on that, you'll be breaking the law, too, and it could cost you.

Law enforcement, however, are free to do so under the right circumstances so instead of risking getting fined yourself, call 911 and let them do it for you. In fact, not only can they break the window but fine them $125.

If you break the window, however, you could face a fine and be completely liable. Not to mention whatever the dog may do to you if they're unfamiliar to you.

You can find out more about this law for yourself, but if you see a dog trapped in a hot car, instead of taking matters into your own hands, don't hesitate to call 911.
