A beloved rider will be missing from tonight's (July 24) Central Washington Bike Nights gathering, but he won't be forgotten.
Mike Olivero, who rode with Unforegiven MC, died last week. And this evening's Bike Night -- at the Buzz Inn Steakhouse on Canyon Road -- is dedicated to his memory.

More than 100 bikers from around the region rode from Yakima to Ellensburg to pay

Mike Olivero

their respects at his funeral Saturday. Olivero, 63, was a popular professor at Central Washington University. He also was well-known for refereeing local football, basketball and baseball games, and for playing Santa Claus at Christmastime.

So let's raise one in Mike's honor and cherish our freedom to ride.
And if you haven't been to the Buzz Inn, you're in for a treat. They serve up some fantastic steaks and fries that'll fill you up fast -- so if you're up for some eats, this one's worth the trip. As usual, we'll have lots of giveaways and other prizes (courtesy of Pepsi and Owens Cycle Inc.) and the weekly competition for Best Custom, Best Metric and the People's Choice awards.
