I was raised in a very religious home. I went to church six days a week. I was raised, though, with the value that no one is different from anyone else. Whether you have light skin or dark skin, whether you believe in God or not or even if you have tattoos, you are no better than the next person.I found out much later in life that my parents raised me that way so I would be a good person. I also found out that my dad had tattoos and I never even knew it until he died. True story. My uncle told me that he never told me, because he didn't want me to think they were cool or not cool. He wanted me to decide for myself.

My father and my mother were both right. About all of it. People are so judgmental. That is not how a person should live their life. Nowadays, people judge people who have tattoos. My parents were kind of old fashioned, so I get why they didn't tell me.
I most recently learned that one of my friends who got a job at a medical place had to cover his tattoos. He explained that his job wanted him to cover his tattoos because they were worried about how people would look at him. He couldn't believe it. He said to me, why would it matter if I am doing my job right? I would have to agree.

What do you think? Should people cover their tattoos if they are in a professional setting or should it not matter?
