It's one of the first jokes I remember hearing. "Why did the chicken cross the road?" And you know the answer, but, until now, your whole life was a lie. The answer that you already know holds more knowledge than you think!

The answer, of course, is, "To get to the other side." You may think this is a non-joke or anti-joke. An anti-joke like, "What's red and tastes like blue paint?" (answer: red paint) However, to get to the other side is means more than just the other side of the street. The "other side" also refers to death; the after life. Why did the chicken cross the road? To get to the other side. A play on words meaning the other side of the street and, because the chicken apparently has a death wish, to most definitely be struck by a car and get to the 'other side.'
