Two metal bands with distinctively different styles both debuted impressively on the Billboard 200 album chart with their latest albums. Within Temptation‘s 'Hydra' lands at No. 16, while Behemoth's 'The Satanist' takes the No. 34 slot.

Behemoth frontman Nergal comments on the chart position: "This news just knocked us out while getting ready to hit the stage in Lyon. It's actually unheard of… I don't think that ANY black or death metal artist reached a higher position on Billboard ever! We are eternally grateful to our fans worldwide for making "The Satanist" the game changer in Behemoth's history!"

Within Temptation's 'Hydra' features numerous collaborations, including Tarja Turunen, Howard Jones, Dave Pirner and rapper Xzibit. In an interview with Loudwire, vocalist Sharon den Adel talked about the collaborations.

"You’ll never know what you’re going to get when you ask someone you don’t know," den Adel says. "There’s so many collaborations on this album because we didn’t know if it would go over well. From a music perspective we thought, “Okay there might be one or two that might not work out somehow.”

She continues: "We got lucky and they all worked out somehow, sometimes a lot of things just work and it goes the way you were hoping for. We looked at the songs when we wrote them [and thought,] “What could we add now to the song now that the album is finished?”

'Hydra' is Within Temptation's sixth studio album, and in addition to their No. 16 showing in the U.S., the disc topped the charts in the Netherlands and Czech Republic. It was No. 2 in Switzerland and Finland, No. 4 in Germany, No. 6 in the U.K. and No. 9 in France.
