A day after the inauguration of President Donald Trump, hundreds took to the streets of Yakima to add their voices to hundreds of thousands of others around the world who rallied to send the new commander-in-chief a message:

"We're not going away."

Saturday's Women's March on Yakima drew upwards of 700 people who marched from City Hall down Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, down Eighth Street, up Yakima Avenue, back down North Second Street and finally to the Unitarian Universalist Church at Second and Lincoln Avenue.

They wore pink "pussyhats" to deride the president's infamous recorded conversation that he dismissed as "locker room talk." They carried signs that urged support for women's rights, Planned Parenthood and health insurance. And they sang and chanted cheerfully as they slogged through the icy, sloppy downtown streets.

At the Unitarian Universalist Church, they gathered on the steps and shouted "united we stand," cheered, applauded and went inside for what the group called "networking opportunities."
