The folks at RoadSnacks.net have done the heavy lifting and, surely to the surprise of some, have determined that the city of Yakima is not one of the 10 most dangerous cities in Washington to reside in.

According to their criteria, they defined "dangerous" by using  data from the FBI regarding violent crimes and only included cities/towns with populations of 5,000 or more. The FBI considers rapes, murders, robberies and aggravated assaults as violent crimes.

They do stress that the report "is not an analysis of the effectiveness of local police departments. It simply states where crimes occurred most frequently."

With that, here is the top 10 in ascending order:
10. Everett
9. Kelso
8. SeaTac
7. Moses Lake
6. Shelton
5. Fife
4. Port Orchard
3. Tacoma
2. Spokane
1. Tukwila
