This may be hard for some to believe but Yakima is NOT the worst city or town to live in the state of Washington.  In fact, it's not even in the top 10.

The folks at HomeSnacks.net, a self-described website "formed by two bloggers to provide bite-sized information about places to live in the United States" that uses "data and analytics to determine a wide array of determining factors about cities, including safety, entertainment and culture" have come up with an entire ranking of all 110 municipalities of 10,000 or more residents.

They then used the following criteria to determine the WORST places to live:

    • Good education
    • Lots of jobs
    • Low crime
    • Great weather
    • High incomes
    • High population density (Lots of things to do)
    • Short work commutes
    • Houses that aren’t vacant and boarded up

After they crunched the data, they came up with this top 10 list:

1.) Centralia
2.) Bremerton
3.) Kelso
4.) Port Orchard
5.) Aberdeen
6.) Port Angeles
7.) Longview
8.) Parkland
9.) Lakewood
10.)Bainbridge Island

As surprising as it may come to some 'haters,' Yakima came in at #34 out of 110.
