Recess May Be Cut from Yakima Schools. Voice Your Opinion at the School Board Meeting

There has been some talk on changing certain things at the Yakima public schools. One of them has made some parents furious. There is a proposed idea to cut recess time. Many parents believe that kids need recess time to refresh their brains for better learning. It also acts as a fundamental activity, not just for exercise but also for interpersonal communication among classmates. That recess time also gives teachers a little break.

There is a school board meeting you're welcome to attend to voice your opinion on May 20th.

All Yakima city tax payers are invited to attend the Yakima School Board meeting on Tuesday, May 20th at 7:00 p.m. in the Eisenhower High School commons.

This specific item isn't on the agenda, but Agenda E, Item 2 (labeled Other) would be the time to make your opinions felt one way or the other.
