On Saturday, pint-sized football players from around the valley convened at West Valley High School for a jamboree that allowed teams to face live competition instead of scrimmaging against their own.

The Yakima Valley Grid Kids organized a day of glorified scrimmages that included young footballers as well as their parents, family and friends. Each match-up was 30 minutes in duration with each team playing 15 minutes straight on defense and 15 minutes on offense so as to get as many snaps in the allotted time. Penalties were not called as there were no officials and teams competed against each other using just half a field.

The 2016 Grid Kids first week schedule has been revealed via their Facebook page. Teams located in the Upper Valley will play their contests at the brand new Sozo Sports Complex and Lower Valley teams will be hosted at Sierra Vista Middle School in Sunnyside.
