The team will begin play at Yakima County Stadium in June of 2014.

The Yakima Valley Pippins will start play in the West Coast Baseball League in June. Team officials announced the team name and unveiled the team logo at a news conference on Wednesday.

The name harkens back to Yakima's baseball history. The original Yakima Pippins played in the Western International League from 1937 to 1941. It also ties into the Yakima Valley's apple industry as a Pippin is an apple variety.

More details will be announced soon.
