If you hear the chant "Final Four! Final Four!" emanating from the communies of Zillah, Moxee and Terrace Heights, it's with good reason.

The Yakima Valley SunDome - a veritable second home for the Leopards and Red Devils - simultaneously played host to two huge wins by the local schools in the WIAA State 1A and 2A basketball tournaments today.

With both teams tipping-off at 12:15 this afternoon, their happy fates were sealed within minutes of one another and tickets punched to the semi-finals in their respective classifications.

The #3 seed Zillah boys manhandled Mt. Baker (#12) 82-39 and will next take on the winner of #16 King's v. #2 Freeman. Meanwhile, on the other side of the curtain inside the dome, the East Valley girls continued to play spoiler - at least, as far as seeding goes - by topping valley rival Wapato 60-45. The Lady Red Devils continue their run for the state championship tomorrow evening at 5:30 p.m. against the winner of #2 W.F. West and #9 Black Hills.

Reminder: 1460 ESPN Yakima will broadcast live from the SunDome tonight when the #2 Selah Vikings boys squad plays home team - literally and figuratively - against #8 W.F. West (Chehalis) at 9:00.
