A truck carrying Buhrmaster Baking Co. products caught fire along Interstate 82 south of  Ellensburg early Saturday morning, causing a roadside spectacle, but no injuries.

The truck was headed for a farmers market in Ellensburg when the fire started about 15 miles away from the city. The bakery, owned by Larry Burmaster, had only resumed offering its goods at the Downtown Yakima Farmers Market last week. The business originally opened in Selah, then moved to Nob Hill Boulevard in Yakima before recently reopening in Zillah.

As firefighters worked to put out the truck fire this morning, a friend of Burnmaster's joked, "We like toast, but sheesh!"

The flames destroyed the truck and a stretch of guardrail, preventing the bakery from making it to Ellensburg.

But the bakery is still expected to be at Sunday's (June 30) Farmers Market, which runs from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on  South Third Street between Yakima and Chestnut avenues.
