PROOF TO VOTE IN WA

Initiative IL26-126 would require people to show proof of citizenship like a birth certificate when registering to vote. However the proposal says multiple government-issued documents and forms of ID could be used to "satisfy its proof requirement."
Along with requiring ID when registering to vote, the initiative would audit voter rolls and would clean up incorrect or outdated voter information.

The initiative also gives local election officials "independence" in implementing the new system while restoring trust and confidence in Washington's election system.
You can visit with Presler about the initiative during a visit at Yakima's Flame and Brew restaurant at 12:00 pm Wednesday. You can join him and others for lunch. Flame and Brew is located at 302 West Nob Hill
