The Central Washington State Fair concluded its 10 days of festivities in September, and fair officials are eager to gather feedback from visitors and those who didn’t attend. Marlo McCrea, Business Development and Programming Director, emphasized the importance of participation in the post-fair survey, stating, "Your answers will be used to make decisions about next year's fair. The more we can get to participate, the better."

DID YOU ENJOY THE CHANGES THIS YEAR?

This year’s fair featured significant changes, including altered operating hours based on vendor feedback. For the first time, the fair opened at 2:00 PM from Monday to Thursday and at 12:00 PM on weekends. Kathy Kramer, CEO of State Fair Park, hopes the new hours will attract larger crowds and reduce costs during off-peak times.

Admission also included all entertainment for the first time, with live performances from tribute bands like ACDC, Prince, and Queen. Comedy acts and itinerant performers added to the lively atmosphere, while the carnival rides kept children entertained. The Yakima Valley Sundome buzzed with vendors offering a diverse array of products, from cheesecakes to hot tubs.
