The film Kurt Cobain: About A Son will make its television on the Documentary Channel

this Sunday, February 20 at 8 p.m. on what would have been the late Nirvana frontman's 44th birthday. The film is made up of audio interviews with Cobain conducted by Micahel Azerrad for his book, Come As You Are: The Story of Nirvana. Directed by AJ Schnack, the film combines the audio of Cobain discussing his life with footage of the Northwestern part of the U.S. where the singer grew up.

In addition, the documentary will be made available in its entirety online in DOC’s screening room (www.documentarychannel.com) and be available on DISH Network and DIRECTV video-on-demand simultaneously with the network’s evening premiere.  Documentary Channel is primarily available through satellite television services DISH Network (Channel 197) and DIRECTV (Channel 267). 

The documentary debuted at the 2006 Toronto International Film Festival and was nominated for the 2007 Independent Spirit’s Truer than Fiction Award.
