"Raise your horns starting June 1st," proclaims a new trailer hyping the upcoming tour featuring the Ronnie James Dio hologram. In March of 2018, Ronnie's widow, Wendy Dio, told The Metal Voice that there would be some fine tuning to the Dio hologram, and thanks to the new trailer above, fans get to see a bit of how it will appear.

"It was a good test, we did very well, but there's things I need to perfect on Ronnie. I'm really very critical," revealed Wendy last year. "I need to perfect his face a little bit more — his eyes and his eyebrows are not quite right to me. So we're back on the drawing board right now. And we're hoping it will go out again probably the beginning of next year, and we will hit Canada and America. But it has to be right first."

She's worked closely with Eyellusion on the hologram and in November 2018 it was revealed that the hologram-led performances would make over 100 appearances this year. Eyellusion's Jeff Pezzuti told Billboard, "The big question when we first toured Dio through Europe was 'Is anyone actually going to show up?' We sold out the last three shows in Europe and we did really, really well. We're such believers in what we were doing and we're all such massive fans — in my sixth grade class picture, I'm wearing a Dio shirt, so you can imagine taking this all the way across the finish line has been a dream come true."

Dio Disciples will tour with the hologram, but the band's singers Tim "Ripper" Owens and Oni Logan are also expected to be part of the shows as well, as the Dio hologram will not make up the entire sets. Stay tuned for exact dates of the shows.

Dio passed away in 2010 at the age of 67 while dealing with stomach cancer. In the aftermath, Wendy Dio has helped build the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund with the desire to aid research and education that furthers the goal of creating early detection of prostate, colon and stomach cancers. Dio's Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund has also staged a number of benefit events that help raise money for these goals, with the next major event being the 5th Annual Ride for Ronnie motorcycle ride and concert taking place on May 5. The ride will start at the Harley-Davidson store in Glendale, Calif. and conclude at Los Encinos Park in Encino, Calif., with a day of music performances.
