So Far Yakima County Drug Overdoses Surpass 2019

With Just two months left in the year, Yakima County is seeing a large number of fentanyl overdoses more than in all of 2019. The Yakima County Coroners office says in 2019 there were 51 drug overdoses with 21 being tied directly to the drug fentanyl. So far this year the coroner says there have been 63 drug overdoses with 31 the result of fentanyl.

Law enforcement officials say fentanyl overdoses are impacting a lot of young people who think they're buying prescription pills but instead they buy counterfeit pills laced with fentanyl.
