The cast of Roseanne will return to televisions this fall — without Roseanne Barr — in The Conners. The spinoff, which features the remaining members of the iconic sitcom family, will officially premiere on Tuesday, October 16 — almost a month after ABC debuts its other fall programming. In addition to The Conners, the network has set fall premiere dates for several other new and returning shows, including The Good Doctor and Grey’s Anatomy.
Believe it or not, The Greatest American Hero is getting yet a third chance at a reboot. A brand-new take on the 1981 Stephen J. Cannell classic is coming to ABC, tweaking the premise to include an Indian-American female lead.
We weren’t entirely surprised that ABC would spin Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s creative momentum into a fifth season, though a full 22-episode order raised eyebrows, given its midseason placement. Reports also now suggest that Season 5 may not get going until 2018, following the debut of Marvel’s The Inhumans.
The late-night wars have seen a surprising shift in recent months, as Colbert’s Late Show begins to overtake Fallon’s Tonight Show ratings, but might we be in for another shake-up soon? Perhaps over at ABC, as Jimmy Kimmel is apparently considering leaving Jimmy Kimmel Live! in 2019.
