I grew up in the Lewiston/Clarkston Valley, but for six years of my life I was a foster kid and lived at the confluence of the Grand Ronde River on the border of the Washington/Oregon border. I lived right at the bottom of the Rattlesnake Grade on the Washington side and on the other side was the Buford Grade that proceeded to Oregon. School is almost in session. It doesn't feel like the summer has even started yet, but it is almost time to start thinking about the school clothes and supplies! The Yakima Elks Club agrees, so they are stepping it up with a fantastic school supply distribution.

I was raised LDS (Mormon) so I always used to think that if you skipped school then you wouldn't be going to heaven. My mom did a good job of making me think that most of my life until I was 16.
