What with the recent kerfuffle surrounding the American flag and the 'Star-Spangled Banner' at NFL games, I started to think that maybe we should end the practice of singing/playing the national anthem before sporting events altogether.

So many things have happened in this country that have made me shake my head, get angry and even freak out a time or two.

I've spent a lot of time this week thinking about how I felt about Colin Kaepernick's public stand against standing during the national anthem at a San Francisco 49ers pre-season game. I thought he could have gotten his point across without disrespecting the flag...

I love it when people can sing our National Anthem. Even if it is not so good, at least they still know the song. I think it is important if you are a true American. When someone nails it driving around in their car, well, they win the day!
