What with Mother's Day coming up this weekend, I thought I'd take a moment to publicly wish my mother, Ricki Lyons, a happy day and tell her that I love her. I probably need to have a spin on the dance floor with her again.

They say that one person can't make a difference. That was before the advent of social media. Now one person with an opinion via social media can find a few militant like-minded folks and if their opinion strikes a chord with 20 or 30 people who share something with their 500-600 Facebook friends they can effect a change...

This weekend, I had the opportunity to help my aunt and uncle celebrate their retirement at the posh Sahalee Country Club in Redmond.  It was attended by about 125 family members, neighbors and co-workers and turned into a de facto family reunion for me.

The Eisenhower High School Class of 1963 is celebrating their 50 year Reunion on Saturday, August 24th at the Red Lion Inn Garden Terrace Room at 607 E. Yakima Avenue from 7:00 P.M. to Midnight.

"It's ridiculous – Dime was such a huge part that it would be asinine to even consider it. I think it's pretty disrespectful of people to even suggest it. Dime's amazing legacy is going to be left untouched. I don't know where the idea comes from… it might have been some other clowns who used to be in that band, but not me...
