The National Fire Protection Association says lots of things increase the risk of fire during the holidays including heating, decorations, winter storms and candles.

Smoke alarms should be installed in every bedroom, in hallways outside bedrooms, and on every floor of the home, including basements. Large homes may need extra smoke alarms.

The 2022 campaign theme is "Fire won’t wait. Plan your escape.”

So before you go to bed on Saturday night don't forget to set your clocks ahead one hour.
