With the sad news of Los Angeles Dodgers manager and baseball icon passing away last night, I recall the times I got to meet him when he would visit Yakima.
Former Seattle Mariners pitching coach and current Reds field manager Bryan Price was the latest to add his name to a long list of baseball heads to have a profanity-laden public meltdown caught on tape by reporters.
While he was prolific in his use of the "F" word (77 times in under six minutes) it wasn't as bad (good?) as some others in past years.
Growing up in Yakima and being fascinated by the radio, I cannot remember a time when I wasn't familiar with the voice of Frank Taylor.
Likewise, as a dyed-in-the-wool "seamhead," I don't recall a day in my life that I was not a fan of the Great American Game -- baseball.
