Although Yakima has job openings weekly, new statistics are saying Seattle ranks very high in best cities for jobs...
Considering that one of the biggest cash crops in the Yakima Valley are apples, it is a bit surprising that this wasn't bigger news in these parts. Apparently, without much fanfare, the state of of Washington's oldest living apple tree has finally died at the ripe old age of 194 years.
Sometimes the comedy just writes itself... like the time I was in Bozeman, Montana and spotted "Heebs Grocery". Obviously "Heebs" was a family name and not a religious pejorative (which I figured out on my own when I noticed they sold bacon)...
