When it's this hot, you want to do two things: One - cool off, somehow, someway. Two - if someone asks 'Hey, hot enough for 'ya?' you want to, well.........cool off, somehow, someway.

With temperatures exceeding the century mark in the Yakima Valley for the past few days and with both a 'Red Flag Warning' and an 'Excessive Heat Warning' from the National Weather Service for our area through this evening - getting somewhere to cool off just might be a great idea.

Maybe - head for the hills, camp by a lake or stream and relax. Sounds great, but if you plan on building a campfire when you get there - you may want to check twice to be sure it's even allowed where you'll be pitching a tent.

VERY IMPORTANT to know BEFORE you go. With all of the HEAT and TINDER DRY conditions in the region, it only takes a spark to go from family fun to disaster.
