The school's booster club has received $15,000 in grants to pay for the project.

The Whitney Elementary School Booster Club says that the school's current playground is too small and obsolete.

The group received the funds in a Let's Play Community Construction grant from the Dr. Pepper Snapple Group and the nonprofit organization, KaBOOM.

The booster club says the building date for the playground is April 25.
