Yakima Council to Talk About Helping People and Small Business
When the Yakima City Council meets on Tuesday the council will talk about ways to help struggling small businesses and residents during the COVID-19 pandemic. The council meets at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall. Because the city remains closed council members will be on the phone. City council members know many people are looking for financial relief in paying city utility bills and many small business owners say they're close to shutting doors unless they get help. The city has few options for utility customers other than deferring payments or offering assistance in paying the bills. The council will also talk Tuesday about how to help small businesses including working closely with Yakima County Development Association.
The council meets at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. Before the regular business agenda he council will read a proclamation proclaiming the month June as LGBTQ pride month.
