When I was growing up, my mom and dad would take my brother and I out to get hot fudge sundaes all the time. Neither one of us weighed much, so we both got away with it. Weight is catching up to me now, but I still go out for hot fudge sundaes and remember my awesome parents and the great times we had.
I cannot wait to take a vacation. I try to plan for one every year. It seems, though, that when I do plan well, it never works out. There is always something going on. The question is if the rest of Yakima Valley are in the same boat? I am on a salary, so I don't continue to work when I should take vacation because of money. However, wages in this area aren't the greatest.
Downtown Summer Nights is going to be the best night ever. Not to mention that the weather in Yakima will be amazing! The event is free, but, the band is going to rock our whole city! Too Slim & The Taildraggers will be on stage bringing the excellent rock, southern rock and blues to historic North Front Street, July 21.
I suppose I could be considered a "foodie," although I can't afford to run around and try everything anymore. Getting escargot or the dim sum for the price they cost is out of my reach. I prefer getting a simple sandwich that will satisfy my taste buds, fill me up and leave me with a happy feeling! Yakima Valley has these places!
Every time I get a new phone I am so excited to set the thing up my way. I am also happy that it is new because it won't die so quickly! I feel like a take care of the darn thing but, after about 4 months, it needs to be charged all of the time. I most recently got a new phone and I said to myself that I am not plugging this thing in until it is completely dead. Maybe that will help my battery. It turns out I was right.
I really don't believe in ghosts or the supernatural, however, there are some streets in Yakima that give me the creeps. Most of them are beautiful looking but send chills down my spine as if something crazy has happened on them.
Wags to Riches is one of the best organization that pride themselves on not killing the animal if they can not find a home for it. The say the are 'Proudly No-Kill' organization! This charitable cause has raised amazing amounts of money to help feed and shelter a homeless dogs! They have an event coming up that will gather up funds for the animals and you can have a good time doing it.
I don't think that the 90's we have been as good if it weren't for the likes of Soundgarden, Nirvana and one of my favorites, Sublime. All of their songs had a fun little twist to them. Uplifting and depressing, they touched on almost every aspect of life.
Chris Cornell was amazing July 18th at the Capitol Theatre in Yakima! I was set up outside to talk to all the people that came to this amazing local event. I am glad I did! There were so awesome people who came. Some brought their kids, some came with a partner and some came alone. All of them with the same thought, 'To see the legend, Chris Cornell!'
