I have driven in just about every state in the United States except Alaska. I have still never been there, but it's on my bucket list. From my travels, I can tell you who has the worst drivers ever. But a study by an online insurance agency, Quote Wizard, came up with a list of its own. I will have to disagree with them on a few of these.
I hate going to laundromats. It is the worst thing, and I hate doing laundry anyway, so it makes it that much worse. Every now and again my friends and I will share the duties. I don't have a washer and a dryer anymore so it is usually me bringing the wine or beer while I do laundry at their house. But what do you think about a Uber-style arrangement for laundry?
There are a lot of charities out there, and I'd love to be involved with most of them. Pegasus Project is one of them -- such an incredible cause. They provide therapy for adults and children with special needs by getting them on horseback and teaching them to care for horses -- which helps clients cope with what they are going through. The Pegasus Project is always in need of donations.
The second annual Chili Cookoff at Owens Cycle last Saturday was awesome! We had a great time with the United States Marine Corps and the YWCA! All the bike clubs in town came out and entered their chili!
It's the time of year when chili just sounds good. And if you're particular about your chili and like to have more than one kind to taste, Owens Cycle has a treat for you: The second annual Chili Cook Off gets underway this Saturday (Dec. 3) at 11 a.m. in the Harley-Davidson dealer's parking lot, 1707 S. First St.
In this world we all need a little inspiration. From the negativity of war, the presidential election, racism, penniless people and so on, something needs to bring us together. Who knew that a painted rock in 2016 would do the trick!
A couple of weeks ago the Seahawks took on Kelly West's team, the Eagles, and the midday chick on the KATS team did not do so good. Philadelphia got crushed by Seattle, 26-15. Right before the game, West and the morning DJ, Todd E. Lyons, Esq., made a bet on the outcome: the loser would have to wear the other team's jersey. West lost and so it begins.
It is that time of year again when the city of Yakima comes to life. It is full of amazing holiday spirit! And the Larson Building stands in the middle of it all. It is such a great piece of Yakima Valley history and it is always fun to watch them light that building up.
