The Yakima Amateur Hockey Association is inviting boys and girls to the Yakima Ice Rink this Saturday, November 12th for a "Try Hockey For Free" clinic as part of "Come Play Hockey Month". The clinic begins at 10 a.m. and is open to kids aged 4 to 9. Children who have never experienced ice hockey before can learn the basic skills in a fun, safe environment.
Sunday's (Nov. 6) bike run that kicked off the valley's Toys for Tots 2016 campaign at the Salvation Army was a complete success. We had so many bikes there! People even came in vehicles to make sure that the United States Marine Corps got toys for the kids.
Whoa! Christmas is already on the way! Which means our local Marines are already gearing up for the 100th year of Toys for Tots. We need to help by stocking them up with lots of brand-new toys for needy children in our area.
Our first chance is at this weekend's annual bike run in Yakima.
The annual American Cancer Society Yakima Chapter's 'Relay For Life' 24-hour walk was held at the Franklin Middle School track this weekend to raise money for local cancer patients and to pay tribute to those who have not just succumbed to the disease but to celebrate those who have survived it.
