If you know a couple from the valley that have a crappy marriage and are attention whores, then you may be friends with soon-to-be celebrities.Brad Masset, chef of Yakima’s very own Birchfield Manor received a call earlier this week from the producers of Regis & Kelly requesting a gift certificate for dinner for two with a night’s stay at his bed and breakfast.  The producer further explained they were doing a special segment on their show highlighting couples from around the country who needed a “marriage re-vamping”.  In this segment, an unknown Yakima couple was participating in the show.  At the end of the segment, each couple will receive a prize for participating and the Yakima couple will be receiving the Birchfield Manor gift certificate as their prize.

“I wish I knew who the couple was,” said Brad Masset.  “It would be a ton of fun to tease them!  I will find out soon enough!”  Masset, owner and chef of Birchfield Manor Country Inn, has been a part of the family business since opening in 1979.  Well know for its classic elegance of its old, turn- of- the- century style architecture and award winning cuisine, Masset is honored the show picked his inn as the prize.  “I know the show is about following the couple but I’m thrilled my inn will be mentioned on national television.  You just can’t buy advertising like that for the cost of dinner for two and a one-night stay!”

The Regis & Kelly episode will air Thursday, July 14, @ 9am on KAPP the ABC affiliate.
