Downtown Summer Nights

If you've ever listened to "The Big Show," you have probably heard my self-proclamation that I am the "World's Greatest Living Air Guitarist."  While I stand by that claim (I once won a competition at the old Grant's Pub pantomiming Jimi Hendrix's "Fire") I may have to pass the torch to a young, up-and-coming member of the next generation - my son, Drew.

Tonight at 5:00, 4th Street just south of Yakima Avenue will be cordoned off once again for another installment of the weekly series that has grown exponentially in popularity with each passing week.

I often hear of Yakimanians complaining about the roads or how there is nothing to do in town.  The latest edition of Yakima Now, the City of Yakima’s local video magazine show, produced and hosted by my good friend Sean Davido is currently airing on Y-PAC channel 22, Charter Cable will give you some insight into exactly just what the City is up to.

Yesterday, we heard from 40% of Yakima band Not Amy when both Navid Eliot and Jenny Borst stopped by to entertain us leading up to their performance tonight at week five in our summer-long concert series Downtown Summer Nights. This morning singer/guitarist Chad Bault along with bassist Mitch Sander came in to show another side of the band.

Earlier this morning on "The Big Show," I had the pleasure to welcome Navid Eliot and Jenny Borst from the local band "Not Amy" is preparation of their performance tomorrow night on 4th Street in Yakima at the next installment of "Downtown Summer Nights" - presented by Legends Casino and the City of Yakima.

On July 11th, 2013, we filled 4th street in downtown Yakima with Downtown Summer Nights. Fino rocked the crowd, the beverage garden was packed and we had some great dancers in the streets. Here are some of the pictures from our fourth week of Downtown Summer Nights.

Thursday evening's rain shower didn't dampen the spirits of those who braved the elements at our second installment of 'Downtown Summer Nights' on 4th Street.

Thursday, 94.5 KATS, along with Legends Casino and the City of Yakima kicked off the first of many fun family nights on 4th Street at Downtown Summer Nights. Yakima Police estimated the crowd to be between 800 and 900 strong, despite that the rain had come earlier in the day.
