10 Yakima Men Arrested in Sex Trafficking Case
10 people are being held in the Yakima County jail after being arrested in connection with a sex trafficking case. According to Yakima Police Capt. Jay Seely an investigation started in May and lead to a juvenile female who had been encouraged by a family member to engage in sex with multiple men in exchange for drugs and money. Seely says during the investigation they found men who had paid the female to have sex.
10 men have been arrested ranging in age from 21-years-old to 77-years-old.
A news release from Yakima Police says all face charges ranging from Commercial Sex Abuse of a Minor, Rape of Child 3rd Degree, Distribution of a Controlled Substance to a Person Under Eighteen, Possession of Depictions of a Minor Engaged in Sexually Explicit Conduct and Communication with a Minor for Immoral Purposes.
All the suspects are from Yakima County. The investigation is ongoing and authorities say they expect more arrests.
