Apple Valley Elementary Torn Down (1972-2020) [PHOTOS]
Since 1972, Apple Valley Elementary School has stood on 88th Ave in between Summitview Ave. and Tieton Drive. After 47 years it is being demolished to make way for a new facility.
The school, part of the West Valley District, was originally designed as an "open concept" facility where there were no walls dividing the classrooms. The thought was that children would be better suited for the workplace and the trend became popular in the 60s and 70s before losing favor as studies on its effects came in.

Jason Craig, son of former West Valley High School Principal Jerry Craig, was on the scene as demolition began.
