There’s no denying that Europe is home to some of the heavyweight titans of rock and metal, from classic head-banging English heavy metal to belly-grumbling German deathcore. The European climate has a vast wealth of astonishing talents that dominate festival lineups and Top 40 charts in their home countries.

Yet, there seems to be a surprising number of European talents that are still fairly underground in North American territory. Sure, concerts are a distant memory in the current lockdown climate, but if we look at ticket sales, venue sizes and chart positions from the past few years alone, it’s strange how many phenomenal European acts that effortlessly sell out arena-sized venues at home seem to slip under the U.S. radar.
