Iommi and Butler cruised to the scene aboard a boat to greet the masses, generals and witches gathered, and to unveil the new bridge signage from the canal below the bridge. A bench incorporating images of all four founding members of the band has also been installed on the bridge itself.

Iommi said in a statement, "The bridge name and commemorative bench are both terrific and we're thrilled that everyone can now enjoy what has become a special location for Black Sabbath history."

The unveiling coincides with the opening a major exhibition celebrating Sabbath and the band's legacy, which runs until September 29th at the Birmingham Museum And Art Gallery.

Titled "Home Of Metal: Black Sabbath At 50," the exhibit features stage outfits and gear used by the band in concert as well as other Sabbath memorabilia.

I kind of wish the bridge would have been dedicated on a Sabbath, Bloody Sabbath, but Iron Man was not available then, despite living again and again, he was leading the generals and War Pigs into battle....oh Lord, yeah.
