Here's a great piece of news: Warbeast will be reuniting for the 2018 Fort Worth Weekly Awards. Vocalist Bruce Corbitt has seen an improvement in his health after being treated for esophageal cancer. Corbitt played what was presumed to be his final show on May 27, 2017 at the Rail Club in Fort Worth, Texas, but after seeing some successful returns in his treatment, the singer has accepted an invite to perform again.

"Greetings everyone! For those that haven't already heard, Warbeast was asked to reunite to play a 3-song set at this year's Ft. Worth Weekly Awards. Warbeast was chosen as part of their 2018 Hall of Fame Class. So I've decided to give it a shot for such a special occasion. Jono Garrett will be playing drums for us because Joey is out on tour," says Corbitt.

The event will take place Sunday, July 8 at the Ridglea Theater.

The vocalist adds, "I'm really excited and thankful to the Ft. Worth Weekly for showing us this much appreciation. I'm proud that I'm even feeling good enough right now to be able to attempt it. But I do know my limitations and I will be careful. All I know is I get to experience that feeling of being onstage again ... and that's why I keep on fighting. Because good things do finally happen if you can just hang in there long enough. You know damn well!"

Earlier this year, Corbitt revealed that the experimental treatment he had been trying was having positive returns. "I can't believe it, I'm in shock, I just got some of the best news. I mean, after all these chemo sessions and blood work, I've never had such improvement in just two weeks on my own... my body doing this on its own with no help. All my white blood cells, platelets, everything has all shot up back to normal. We can't believe it, we're in shock," said the vocalist back in April.
