Chris Cornell recently welcomed a fan to the stage for the moment that every guitarist dreams about, getting to perform a song with one of your rock idols. See the Soundgarden vocalist belt out an acoustic version of ‘Outshined’ with a fan on guitar below.

Chris Cornell is currently making the rounds on his solo tour overseas, where he plays a mixture of songs from his expansive body of work including tracks from Soundgarden, Audioslave and his solo career. While performing at Newcastle City Hall in the United Kingdom, Cornell called upon one very lucky fan for some assistance with a SG classic.

The recipient of the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity was Ben Dawson, who asked Cornell if he can play with him and proceeded to rock ‘Outshined’ — a song you generally wouldn’t think of as an acoustic jam. However, Dawson knocked the song out of the park during the five-minute, jealousy-inspiring performance. “Most awesome moment of my life!” commented Dawson on Grunge Report.

Cornell was set to continue the tour in Torino, Italy last night (June 26), but announced that the show will be rescheduled due to a stomach virus. There is no word on whether any further dates will be rescheduled as of yet.

Meanwhile, Cornell’s latest work with Soundgarden is in the final stages of preparation and is expected to hit stores this October. Revolver editor Brandon Geist recently heard a few tracks off of the album and tweeted, “3 very heavy and rockin, one almost could be AC/DC, 3 more mellow, expansive. Psychedelic touches: sitar, organ…”Later adding that the band is still deciding on a single and mastering the other half of the album.
