Episode Four of the Loudwire Podcast is set to assault your ears come Sept. 22! In this podcast preview, Death drumming legend Richard Christy shares some deeply personal memories of the late Chuck Schuldiner.

Richard Christy has committed some incredible drum work to Death, Iced Earth, Control Denied and his newest band, Charred Walls of the Damned. He’s also made us laugh for over a decade on The Howard Stern Show, so we were beyond thrilled when Richard stopped by our studio.

In the full podcast, we talk to Richard about working with some of metal’s greatest musicians on Charred Walls of the Damned’s new album, his favorite moments as a staffer on Howard Stern and the finer points of Crotchduster. Richard’s also a horror fanatic, so we debated which metal album would serve as the best template for a full-on horror movie for our ‘Rocker vs. Writer’ segment.

In this preview, Christy looks back on death metal’s most iconic artist — Chuck Schuldiner. The Charred Walls drummer revealed that Chuck actually used to brew his own beer, which Richard calls some of the best he’s ever tasted. He also spoke to Chuck’s tremendous passion for music, the Death frontman’s mammoth vinyl collection, his soft spot for the Christmas season and much more.

Find out what the world doesn’t know about Chuck Schuldiner in this Loudwire Podcast preview! Charred Walls of the Damned’s Creatures Watching Over the Dead album comes out Sept. 23.
