For tattoo enthusiasts, there’s nothing like fresh ink. Those inclined to use their bodies as a canvas are always willing to show off their new tattoos. DevilDriver / Coal Chamber frontman Dez Fafara is no different. The vocalist took to Instagram to show his latest ink posting before and after images of a new chin and neck tattoo.

Fafara posted a selfie over the weekend showing his chin tattoo, which got an upgrade. He captioned the photo: “Saturday’s are for #Ink and today I not only redo my chin in mad color we go big and extend it down as well as down the side of my neck and along my whole jaw line so take a look this is moving forward / change is life.”

In the image below, Dez showed off his colorful new tattoo that starts below his bottom lip, covers his chin and drapes down under his jaw line touching his previous neck ink. The artist behind the work is Haley Bears, who operates out of the Fallen Crow Tattoo Co. in Murrieta, Calif.

Back in December, Fafara shared a story about running away from home after getting his first tattoo – a wolf on his right shoulder - at the age of 15. “I was in a psychobilly band called the Screamin’ Wolves, I was a stand-up drummer,” Dez shared. “I was going to a Baptist school at the time and [my Mom] pulled the covers off me, told me it was time to go to school and saw that and that was it. I had to run away from home and I left a horrible fucking situation because of that tattoo.”

DevilDriver recently finished recording a double album, which Fafara says is a “defining moment as a band.” The group will head out on tour this summer with Static-X and Dope. The outing kicks off on June 18 in Tempe, Ariz. See all the tour dates here.
