When you're ready to go out to eat and want something different, you have GOT to try Cowiche Canyon Kitchen & Ice Bar located at 202 E Yakima Ave in Yakima, Wa.
You've probably driven past and seen people dining out on the patio or how about those gorgeous glass windows? Two of many features that make this unique spot stand out in our little city! Foodies Friday's with Sarah J powered by Coca-Cola of Yakima and Tri-Cities is bringing the fancy goods this week!

Honestly, it starts from the moment you walk up to the door. It's a giant piece of wood that needs to be pushed and the sucker swings in, don't worry if you get confused. You are not alone and it's going to be ok! We're stepping into an out-of-town place, without having to leave town.

The first time I dined at Cowiche Canyon Kitchen & Ice Bar I was floored. The interior has really high ceilings, loads of light and so many seating options, booths around the edges, a wrap-around bar to sit at, or tables for your party and back rooms for private parties. It doesn't stop there, pretty much every seat has a view of the chefs and staff whipping up delicious menu items, a selection that is always being updated.

I love the little milk jug style water they provide you, with little water glasses and now they have a new experience where you can scan a card to peruse the menu. Very cool but I wasn't ready for the business, I wanted to make sure I took photos for you.

I used to get the vermicelli salad until they flipped the script, totally ok because there are plenty of options. Their shrimp and avocado salad is delicious and so filling you'll have left-overs that will probably be eaten later that night, it's that good.

One time I tried their pork belly sandwich, OMG, and the french fries. Those hand-cut slender and seasoned beauties are SO good. They have all kinds of fancy sauces to dip if you ask and if you are a lover of appetizers, the house-made guacamole is a must!

If happy hour is your jam and you're searching for a place that serves up cool glasses with fancy ice and expert pouring, head to the back and is greeted with an entire area dedicated to making sure you get what you want.

This is one of the spots making me proud to be a Yakamaniac. Totally worth a date or a gathering anytime you want something different but don't want to leave our area.
