The weather is right in that sweet spot where the days are still long and the evenings are nice and warm, perfect for dog walking! Did you know you can walk dogs at the Yakima Humane Society?

It's the Perfect Fresh Air Activity

They say 30 minutes of exercise is the way to go so why not pass the time while bonding with a shelter pet? The Yakima Humane Society and I am sure most around the country would LOVE to have someone volunteer to walk the dogs. They get antsy and affection is important for everyone, must be careful and fall in love with every dog you meet!

It Makes for a Great Date

One of my very first dates with my husband over a decade ago was choosing dogs to take out into the park, it's one of my favorite memories because my dog got so tired I had to pick him up and carry him the rest of the way back, he was a little pudgy pug and I'm sure was working me over!

Donations

The Yakima Humane Society could also use donations of dog food, toys, pet pads, and more as the shelter is constantly housing new animals while they await their forever homes. Following the Yakima Humane Society, Facebook Page is a perfect way to stay up to date with all their needs and upcoming events. If you are searching for volunteer hours or just want to help, it is always appreciated.
