The Yakima County Sheriff's Office is reporting a double fatal crash reported at about 11:45 p.m. Wednesday in the 9000 block of Roza Hill Drive east of the Terrace Heights Landfill . Officials from the East Valley Fire Department, Yakima County Sheriff’s Office along with the assistance of the Moxee Police Department responded to the crash. When they arrived they found an overturned vehicle that burned with two people inside. A press release says the driver was traveling eastbound Roza Hill Drive when, for an unknown reason the driver lost control. Authorities say the vehicle slid sideways, struck a dirt berm which caused the car to roll and come to a stop on its top. The car then caught on fire.  A small brush fire was started by the crash but was quickly extinguished. Inside the burned out car officials found a male and female who have not been identified.
The collision is under investigation by the Yakima County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit. Officials may be at the scene later Thursday. They'll be reviewing the area and trying to figure out what cause the crash and how the driver lost control. They'll also be investigating whether any intoxicants were involved in the crash but they may have to rely on toxicology tests depending upon the condition of the bodies.

No identities have been released and they likely won't be released until an investigation is complete. The Yakima County Coroners office will also investigate and conduct autopsies on the bodies of the two victims. Coroner Jim Curtice will release the names of the victims when appropriate.
