Yakima, you got talent!
If you happened to get to see all of the wonderful chalk art pieces that were displayed in the windows of Downtown Yakima businesses, now is your chance to own one -- AND help fund the event for years to come!

The online auction is being put on by the Downtown Association of Yakima (DAY). It will run through this Friday (December 11) with bids being accepted until 5:00 p.m.

In a press release on Monday (Dec. 7) DAY Executive Director Andrew Holt stated that “all proceeds will go towards next year’s event and efforts to revitalize historic Downtown Yakima. It also provides an additional avenue for these terrific artists to have their work appreciated.”

Because of Covid-19 protocols, the artists that entered the contest each received a blank pallet -- as opposed to the sidewalk as in years past -- to create their piece and rendering of "their favorite Downtown Yakima place". As you will see, the locations were varied and the renderings were SPECTACULAR!
After the piece were turned in, the artwork was displayed in business windows anda public vote was held online. Awards were given out to the top three vote getters.
The artists all released their piece to be auctioned off by DAY.

If you would like to bid on any of the items on the block, go to the Downtown Yakima Facebook page.

The Downtown Yakima Chalk Art Auction is still going until Friday at 5pm!
