
Gonzaga Survives Scare, Moves On To Sweet 16
A 22 point lead still wasn't enough for the Gonzaga Bulldogs to sail smoothly through the NCAA Men's Basketball tournament today.
Immediately following top-seeded and defending champion Villanova's upset loss to #8 Wisconsin. the Zags took the floor in Salt Lake City, UT to face upstart Northwestern - making their first-ever tourney appearance.
Up by 18 at the half, Gonzaga held on despite a furious comeback effort by the Chicago school to advance to the Sweet 16 by a final score of
Gonzaga will face the winner of #4 West Virginia vs. #12 Princeton tomorrow.
With the win, head coach Mark Few became the third-fastest head coach in NCAA history to 500 wins.
