Perhaps surprising nobody but themselves, Mumford and Sons snagged the biggest award of the night at the 2013 Grammys, winning Album of the Year honors for their critically acclaimed and commercially successful 'Babel.' The British folk rockers beat out some strong competition -- the Black Keys' 'El Camino,' fun.'s 'Some Nights', Frank Ocean's 'Channel Orange' and Jack White's Blunderbuss' -- to win the award.

Last year's Album of the Year winner, Adele, handed out the trophy, and she looked fabulous doing so. Mumford kept things short and sweet in the speech department -- possibly because they didn't prepare a speech. "We figured we weren't going to win anything because the Black Keys have been sweeping up all day, and deservedly so," remarked frontman Marcus Mumford.

In fact, Mumford and Sons, who were nominated for a total of six honors, had been virtually shut out before Album of the Year, winning only in the Long Form Music Video category for their ‘Big Easy Express’ clip, which also featured Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros and Old Crow Medicine Show. But they did turn in a moving performance of 'I Will Wait,' and even with their loses mounting, it doesn't get bigger than Album of the Year.
