Cheech Marin to Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month in Yakima
Remember Cheech and Chong? Part of that comedy duo will be in Yakima next month.
As part of Hispanic Heritage Month the Rotary Club of Yakima, in partnership with Central Washington University and OIC of Washington, is sponsoring a visit to Yakima by Cheech Marin on October 3.
MARIN IS KNOWN FOR MORE THAN JUST CHEECH AND CHONG
A press release says Marin is an "accomplished actor, director, writer, comedian, musician, speaker, art collector, humanitarian and a multi-generational talent. In addition to his successful career in entertainment, Cheech is well known as part of the comedy duo “Cheech & Chong” and for his roles in feature films including Up in Smoke, Tin Cup, Shotgun Wedding, Champions and The Long Game."
A SPEECH DURING A NOON LUNCH YOU CAN ENJOY
Marin will speak at a noon luncheon at Yakima Valley College Conference Center. The release says he'll talk about his career, Chicano Art and his collection, and his experiences growing up. The lunch is open to everyone. Just RSVP to yakimarotary@yakimarotary.org. Cost is $20 at the door.
HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH IS AROUND THE CORNER
Hispanic Heritage Month, September 15 to October 15 allows a time to honor the history, diverse culture and many contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans in the Yakima Valley.
MARIN WILL VISIT CENTRAL WASHINGTON
As part of local Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations, on October 2nd, Cheech Marin will present from 5:00 – 6:30 pm to the Central Washington Hispanic Chamber of Commerce at the Valley Mall and at Central Washington University in Ellensburg on Thursday, October 3rd from 6:30 to 8:00 pm.
