For nearly seven decades, the students from the past, present and future of Wapato High School have been attending the long standing Wapato Bean Feed and this year is no different.
Big crowds are expected at the 65th annual feed again this year. The feed is set for January 30 4:30 - 7:00 pm at Wapato High School...
The Wapato Bean Feed started in 1957 in honor of Glenda Ostreim, a student at Wapato High School with leukemia. As an alumni at Wapato High and veteran bean feed ticket seller the memories are fresh.  I remember the excitement that flowed through the hallways with a hand full of tickets to sell, raising money for a great cause.
I remember the cafeteria was packed with people enjoying the meal and then heading into Wapato Wolves' gymnasium to watch the Wolfpack play an exciting game of basketball against our rivals of the Mid Valley League.

That tradition lives on again this year.

If you attend all proceeds are donated to the North Star Lodge Cancer Care Center in Yakima, helping countless local cancer patients. Over the years, this cherished tradition has raised nearly $175,000, making a tangible difference in the lives of those in need within our community.
So lets, mark your calendars for Friday, January 30 as Wapato High School proudly hosts its storied tradition—the 67th Annual Bean Feed—held once again in the welcoming halls of the Wapato High School Commons Area.

Bean Feed is more than a meal

This event, a cornerstone of the community for generations, continues to bring together friends, families, and alumni in a shared commitment to compassion and charity. And after the bean feed don't miss the big game. as the Wapato Wolves face off against the Whaluke Warriors in basketball. The excitement begins with the Varsity Girls game at 5:45 p.m., followed by the Varsity Boys at 7:15 p.m.
In addition, it’s a special night to honor the proud Wapato High School alumni during Alumni Recognition Night. If you are a Wolf alumnus, the school invites you to join them and be celebrated as part of an enduring legacy. It's a great opportunity to reconnect with former classmates.
